A Bachelorette (EVJF) Photo Session in Nice, France¶
Bachelorette Session Planning¶
One of the bride’s bridesmaids reached out while planning a bachelorette trip to the South of France. The bride was getting married a few months later, and she and nine of her friends were coming to Nice to celebrate. As part of the weekend, the bridesmaid organised a surprise photo session for the group.
The Surprise¶
The shoot was kept a secret from the bride, which made it even more enjoyable. When she realised what was happening, she was genuinely surprised and immediately on board.
We started the session along the Promenade des Anglais, taking advantage of the open space and soft evening light. The group was easy to photograph — relaxed, playful, and clearly having fun together. Everyone was happy to move around, try different poses, and keep things natural rather than staged.
The outfits were simple and effective. All of the bridesmaids wore black, while the bride wore white, which made her stand out effortlessly in every frame.
Promenade des Anglais¶
As we continued, we walked towards the viewpoint near the "I Love Nice" sign, which offers a direct view of the sunset. The timing worked perfectly.
The light was warm and even, ideal for both group shots and individual portraits. We took a mix of photos: solo portraits of each friend, smaller groupings, and plenty of full group shots, big hugs, lifting the bride, laughing between poses.
Nice Old Town Streets¶
From there, we finished the shoot in Old Town, where the narrow streets catch the last of the evening light. The golden tones of the buildings added a different feel to the final images, giving some variety to the set without changing the pace of the shoot.
Behind the scenes, my partner Jean-Claude carried everyone's bags throughout the shoot — an essential role with a group this size, and one that deserves a mention.
After the shoot, the group headed off to dinner together to continue celebrating their trip.
We genuinely enjoy sessions like this. They're energetic, informal, and full of personality. Spending an evening photographing a group of friends who are simply enjoying being together is always a good way to end the day.
