Capture Your Proposal¶
This is an example of what our “We Capture Your Proposal” session looks like. It is the shortest session we offer and does not include a full portrait shoot afterwards. It is designed for couples who would like their proposal documented but do not necessarily want an extended photo session.
Some people feel shy or prefer not to pose for additional photographs after such an emotional moment, which is completely understandable. This option is perfect in that situation.
How It Works¶
Before your arrival, we will arrive at the agreed proposal location around 10 to 15 minutes early to set-up our gear and prepare discreetly.
When you arrive, you propose, and we capture the moment naturally as it unfolds.
Afterwards, you can decide whether you would like a few additional photographs at the same location. If you prefer not to continue, we simply conclude the session there. It is entirely up to you.
Multiple Angles of Your Proposal¶
Even with this shorter option, we provide two photographers. This allows us to capture two perspectives at once. One photographer stays closer to document the emotion on your faces, while the second remains further away to capture the wider scene and the proposal and scene itself. This ensures you receive both the intimate reactions and the overall setting.
Proposal Planning¶
This session took place in mid-August from 10:00 to 11:30 in Villefranche-sur-Mer. The couple were only in the area briefly, so this was the only time that suited their schedule.
They chose the viewpoint along Boulevard Napoléon III, which offers a stunning view over the water. At that time of day, the sea is incredibly blue and vibrant. The light reflects beautifully off the surface, creating a bright and striking backdrop.
Lighting Tips¶
It is worth noting that this location can be quite bright late in the morning or afternoon. We would usually recommend either later in the day closer to sunset. We do not recommend any earlier than 10:00, as the viewpoint is will covered in shadow until then.
For this couple, however, the timing worked perfectly. The sun had risen just enough to illuminate the water and the coastline, creating a beautiful setting for such an important moment.
After their shoot, we walked back down to the town together and took a few more portraits on the way.
