A Full-Day Photo Tour in the Lavender Fields and French Riviera

A Personal Journey

A was travelling alone and wanted to explore the south of France and Provence slowly while capturing meaningful professional photographs along the way. Because many of the locations she wanted to visit are difficult to reach without a car and because she wanted portraits in each place, we organised a full-day private photo tour entirely tailored to her interests, from 07:30 to sunset at 20:00, and returning to Nice around midnight.

Morning Portraits in Saint‑Paul‑de‑Vence

Our first stop was Saint‑Paul‑de‑Vence, reached early in the morning while the village was still quiet. The stone streets felt peaceful and untouched, with soft golden light gently illuminating the warm façades. Hidden corners, ivy-covered houses, and narrow passageways created a timeless atmosphere, perfect for contemplative portraits. Photographing here without crowds allowed A to fully enjoy the calm beauty of the village while we captured elegant, natural images in every corner.

Midday in Grasse and the Perfume Houses

Next, we continued to Grasse, arriving around midday. Known as the historic heart of French perfumery, Grasse is filled with colourful buildings, lively squares, and charming streets decorated with seasonal touches such as the famous pink umbrella display. We visited one of the traditional perfume houses, Fragonard, where guided tours in French and English lasted about an hour, covering the history of perfume making, the extraction of floral essences, and the creation of fragrances from raw materials to finished scents. This added a fun and educational layer to the photo tour before continuing our session through the town.

Evening and Sunset Photos in the Lavender Fields

After returning briefly to refresh and prepare for the evening light, we headed to the lavender fields in Valensole for the final session. A chose outfits perfectly suited to the soft purple tones of the landscape and did outfit changes for variety. The setting sun cast a warm, golden glow across the fields, creating a peaceful and cinematic ending to the day.

The shoot concluded at sunset, and we drove A back to Nice after a long, immersive day. This kind of full-day photo tour allows travellers to discover multiple iconic locations, enjoy unique experiences, and return home with a complete visual story of their journey in the south of France.
