A joyful Destination Wedding Celebration in Brașov, Romania¶
After having the honour of capturing L and S’s intimate elopement in Hawai‘i, it was incredibly special to photograph the next chapter of their story. If you have not yet seen their sunrise elopement, you can check out their Hawai‘i celebration. It was heartfelt, emotional and beautifully personal.
Because they chose to elope in Hawai‘i, which is L’s hometown, it felt only right to host their larger wedding celebration in Romania, S’s home country. Bringing both sides of their story together in two different parts of the world felt perfectly aligned with who they are as a couple.
A Celebration in Brașov, Romania¶
They chose to gather everyone in Brașov, one of Romania’s most picturesque towns. Nestled in the Carpathian Mountains, Brașov is known for its colourful baroque buildings, cobbled streets and dramatic mountain backdrop. The historic town square has an energy that feels both lively and romantic, and the Black Church stands proudly as one of its most recognisable landmarks. It is the kind of place that feels cinematic without even trying.
Naturalia Inn¶
Their venue, Naturalia Inn, was the perfect reflection of their relaxed and thoughtful personalities. Tucked away in nature, it offers a charming and intimate setting surrounded by greenery and open skies. It was warm, inviting and perfectly suited to a daytime celebration.
A Relaxed Start to the Day¶
The morning began with L getting ready alongside her bridesmaids. We captured detail shots and quiet moments of laughter as everyone prepared before heading to the venue together.
Wedding Details¶
Once we arrived at Naturalia Inn, we began photographing the many handcrafted details they had created themselves. Almost everything was custom made. They had poured so much time and care into the decorations, and it showed. Every table, every small element felt intentional and personal.
Rather than following a traditional structure, L and S chose to greet and take photographs with their guests before the ceremony. They are an incredibly relaxed couple, and because many of their friends and family had travelled, they wanted to maximise their time with everyone. The morning was filled with mingling, laughter and a mix of candid and lightly posed photographs. It felt more like a reunion than a formal wedding schedule.
Just before the ceremony, L stepped away to finish getting ready with her mum. Her bridesmaids helped her into her dress, creating such a sweet and supportive moment.
The Ceremony¶
The ceremony took place in the early afternoon under bright, beautiful skies. S walked down the aisle with his mum, followed by the flower girl and L's sister. They also included their dog, Maple. L then entered with her dad, a classic and emotional moment.
There is something timeless about outdoor ceremonies. Surrounded by loved ones and natural light, vows feel even more meaningful. The atmosphere was heartfelt and joyful, filled with soft laughter and the occasional happy tear.
Instead of rice or confetti, they chose bubbles to celebrate their first moments as newlyweds. It made for playful, light filled photographs and felt perfectly suited to their fun loving personalities.
After the ceremony, everyone had a chance for congratulations and hugs all around.
Newlyweds Portraits Around Town¶
Exploring the town with them was such a highlight. We photographed them in the town square, with the historic church in the background and the mountains rising beyond the rooftops. The architecture and soft afternoon light created a stunning contrast to the greenery of their venue.
It gave their gallery an entirely different feel and allowed them to incorporate the spirit of Braşov into their wedding story.
Speeches, Laughter and Dancing¶
When we returned, they made their grand entrance once more before moving into speeches.
Speeches were shared by family members, bridesmaids and groomsmen.
They also played the shoe game, which is always a crowd favourite.
After the speeches, the newly wedded couple and guests enjoyed their meal, caught up in the warm evening air and enjoyed the golden sunset light. The orange glow as the sun dipped lower created the most beautiful atmosphere.
We continued capturing candid moments as the party grew livelier. The energy built naturally, with music, singing and full dance floor celebrations.
Cake Cutting¶
At the very end of the night, they cut their cake, surrounded by cheers and applause.
It was one of those weddings that simply flowed. No stress, no rigid timeline, just two people enjoying every second with the people they love most. After photographing their elopement in Hawai‘i and then their celebration in Romania, it felt like witnessing a complete and beautiful story.
A day full of laughter, intention and unforgettable moments.
