A Unique Stay at the Riad Kashbah in Marrakech

Riad Kasbah felt like one of those rare places that stays with you long after you leave. Perfectly positioned in the heart of the old town, it sits just a few minutes’ walk from the Medina, close enough to feel connected to the soul of Marrakech, yet tucked away enough to feel wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The moment you step inside, the noise of the city melts away and you are transported into a world of calm, beauty and light.

Architecture

The first thing that takes your breath away is the architecture. Looking up, you are greeted by open sky framed by elegant balconies, intricate details and softly glowing lanterns. Every angle reveals something beautiful.

The lighting throughout the riad is absolutely stunning, especially as the day moves into evening. When the sun begins to set and the lights come on, their reflection dances across the water of the pool, creating an atmosphere that feels almost cinematic.

Pool

The pool itself is a dream. Large, serene and never overcrowded, it feels like a true escape. Plush loungers and day beds surround the water, complete with towels, inviting you to settle in and stay awhile.

After wandering the city all day, there is nothing better than returning to Riad Kasbah and sinking into stillness. On some days, it is tempting not to leave at all. You could easily spend an entire day here, moving from poolside to shaded corners, simply enjoying the space.

Decors

Inside, the riad is beautifully furnished with charming details everywhere you look. Cute pottery, cosy seating areas and thoughtful decorative touches give the space so much character.

Despite being a large riad, it feels incredibly intimate, as though every corner has been designed to make you feel comfortable and at ease. Palm trees and greenery are woven throughout the property, softening the architecture and adding to the sense of calm.

Mornings begin perfectly with a generous and delicious breakfast, served with care and warmth. It is the ideal way to start the day, especially when enjoyed slowly in such a peaceful setting.

Views

One afternoon, we spent hours at the top of the riad, and it was one of our favourite experiences. The rooftop offers both covered areas and sun loungers, allowing you to choose between shade and sunshine. There are tables where you can sit and take in the view, looking out towards the iconic minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque rising above the city, its warm terracotta tones glowing against the sky.

What makes Riad Kasbah truly special is how many spaces it offers to simply be. There are endless spots to relax, read, reflect or do nothing at all. It is the kind of place where time slips by unnoticed, where it becomes genuinely difficult to pull yourself away to explore, even in a city as vibrant as Marrakech. Yet, no matter how wonderful the day outside may be, you are always happy to return.

Riad Kasbah stood out as something truly exceptional. It felt like a home, a retreat and a sanctuary all at once. Leaving was hard, and coming back each day felt like a gift.
