Artistic Proposal at Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat¶

E contacted me to plan a unique and creative proposal for his partner, A, who is an artist. He wanted to incorporate a canvas and easel so she could paint as part of the experience. We purchased a few items online and set up a simple, elegant display, including a canvas with “Will you marry me?” written on it for her to use and paint over later. The villa allowed this modest setup, which worked perfectly for a private yet memorable moment. This proposal took place on July 21, 2025, at Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.
The session was scheduled from 17:55 to 18:40, just before the villa closed. This timing offered soft evening light and a manageable temperature for July. Early evenings are ideal in summer because the afternoons can get very hot, particularly in late July and August. We arrived early to prepare, and E and A walked down toward us, blending naturally with other visitors. When A saw the canvas, E proposed, and the moment was captured beautifully.
Photos Villa Ephrussi's Gardens¶
Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild is known for its gardens, which provide a wide variety of scenic spots for photography. The gardens feature intricate architectural details, fountains, and pathways surrounded by lush greenery. There are elevated terraces with panoramic views of the sea and the surrounding coastline. During this session, we explored these areas, capturing both intimate moments and scenic views. One standout area was a small pavilion with a green roof and elegant design, which framed several images perfectly.
At the end of the shoot, we also photographed their car, a 1978 Chevrolet Corvette C3 Targa rented from Sunset Ride. The classic car added a playful and stylish element to the session and complemented the overall experience of exploring the villa and its gardens while newly engaged.
The shoot concluded after 18:40. The combination of creative setup, beautiful gardens, and iconic views made this a memorable and visually striking proposal. The early evening timing, soft light, and attention to detail created a series of images that were both elegant and personalised.
