Intimate Morning Proposal at Colline du Château in Nice

On a quiet morning in Nice, A planned a heartfelt proposal for his partner, S, inside Colline du Château. They chose to keep the entire session within the park itself, simply wandering through its viewpoints and pathways rather than moving between multiple locations.

Proposal Planning

For sessions around the park, we usually recommend early morning timing, especially on the side that faces Port Lympia. This viewpoint receives soft direct light early in the day, creating bright and flattering conditions for photography while the park is still calm and quiet. The session took place from 08:45 to 09:45 in early June, shortly after opening, allowing time to prepare privately before the proposal.

The morning was slightly cloudy, which created a gentle sunrise glow and beautifully diffused light. These conditions often produce some of our favourite morning colours, with warm orange tones that feel soft and romantic rather than harsh. A’s proposal unfolded in this peaceful atmosphere, followed by portraits at the same scenic viewpoint overlooking the harbour.

Afterwards, we continued photographing throughout the park, highlighting the many different paths, terraces, and perspectives available in a single location.

Waterfall Photos

One of our favourite spots is the waterfall at the top of the hill.

This type of session is perfect for couples who want to stay entirely within Colline du Château while still achieving a wide variety of images.

We finished on the opposite side of the park facing the coastline and the direction of the Promenade des Anglais. On cloudy days, this area still shows beautiful sea colour and detail. On very sunny days, however, we usually avoid ending here because the strong backlighting can place faces in deep shadow.
