Morning Family Photo Session around Nice, France¶
We had the pleasure of photographing S, L, and R during their vacation in Nice in late-May at 10:00. R reached out because he wanted to capture some memories with his family while they were in town. It was especially nice because we had previously photographed some of their friends in Valensole a few years ago, and that is how they found us.
Timing and Light¶
We scheduled the shoot for 10:00., which worked well for their family. With their young child it was better avoid very early mornings while still taking advantage of soft natural light. The sun was gentle enough at that hour to create flattering warmth without being too harsh.
Outfits and Coordination¶
Their daughter L was absolutely adorable. The family had coordinated their outfits in neutral tones. S and R wore taupe, beige and khaki colours, while L had a clue white & dress that matched beautifully. Coordinated outfits like this help create cohesive and timeless images. We began the session along the promenade, capturing shots with the sea in the background from lower angles.
From there, we moved down to the beach. A blanket was brought along so they could sit comfortably while we captured some relaxed, playful moments together.
Walking Through Nice to Colline du Château¶
After the beach, we walked up the Colline du Château, which is about a five or ten minute climb. The views from the top are absolutely worth it. We stopped at our favourite viewpoint facing Port Lympia to take some final portraits of the family, with the town and sea stretching out behind them.
The session was relaxed, playful and full of beautiful light. In just a morning, we captured natural, joyful moments that S, L, and R will be able to treasure for years to come.
