Sunset Proposal Above Villefranche-sur-Mer¶

M reached out well in advance to plan a proposal that felt thoughtful and intentional. After talking through different options, we decided on a sunset proposal in Villefranche-sur-Mer.

The chosen location was a quiet walkway leading up to a street with a panoramic view over the Villefranche-sur-Mer harbour. From this viewpoint, the entire bay opens up, with the town, sea, and boats all visible below. The proposal took place just before sunset, with soft, warm light filling the scene. The timing allowed for privacy while still taking advantage of the golden evening tones.

After the proposal, we continued with a post-sunset photoshoot. By this point, the sun had dipped below the horizon, and the light had shifted into a gentle evening glow.

As we walked back down toward the town, the city lights began to turn on across the harbour. This created a calm, atmospheric backdrop without feeling dark or rushed.

We finished the session around dusk, when the sky had turned a deep blue and the lights of Villefranche-sur-Mer reflected across the water. It was an ideal balance between natural light and the illuminated city.

This proposal took place on May 23rd, which falls in late spring on the French Riviera. The weather was mild and comfortable, making it an excellent time of year for an outdoor evening proposal and walk through the town.
