A Golden Hour Surprise Proposal in a Lavender Field near Valensole¶
A Sunset Session Planned Around the Perfect Light¶
In early July, T carefully planned a sunset proposal for E in the lavender fields near Valensole. He chose what we call the “Dip Field”, a beautiful spot about ten minutes from the village. The field is known for its dramatic slope, which makes the lavender appear to stretch on endlessly from certain angles and creates a naturally cinematic backdrop.
The session was scheduled from 20:30 to 21:30, which is ideal timing for sunset in early July. At that hour, the light becomes soft and golden, gently settling over the lavender and creating a warm glow across the entire field. It is one of the most flattering and romantic times of day for a proposal.
The Proposal Moment Amongst the Lavender¶
When the moment felt right, T got down on one knee. E’s reaction was immediate and full of emotion. She was very excited and clearly surprised, which made the moment even more special. The joy on her face said everything.
Celebrating the 'Yes' in the Same Beautiful Setting¶
After the proposal, we stayed in the Dip Field for the rest of the session. There was no need to move anywhere else, as this location offers plenty of variety within one space. The gentle curves of the field and the depth of the lavender rows allow for different compositions without changing location.
We captured a mixture of candid moments and softly guided portraits, making the most of the golden light as the sun dipped lower. The final part of the session had that dreamy evening glow that makes everything feel calm and intimate.
