A Magical Girls’ Trip with Lifelong Friends in the Lavender Fields, Provence

Early Morning for Deep Purple Lavender

In late June, J and her friend M joined us for a special girls’ trip photo session in the lavender fields. J had dreamed of visiting the fields for many years, and finally her friend brought her on this adventure. The session started very early at 5:25., just before sunrise, to capture the deep purple tones of the lavender at dawn. This timing was essential for getting the rich, moody colours she wanted.

Pre-Sunrise Lavender Photos

We spent the first 35–40 minutes in what we call the “Sunrise Field”. The lavender looked stunning in the soft, pre-sunrise light. We focused on candid shots, portraits, and playful interactions, taking full advantage of the magical colours and calm morning atmosphere.

Portraits in a Dramatic Lavender Field

After sunrise, we moved to the “Dip Field”, which has a beautiful slope giving the impression that the lavender stretches on forever. The early morning sun provided a soft contrast with the purple lavender, creating a dreamy backdrop for portraits and more relaxed shots.

The session ended at 6:25, just as the sun fully rose. The combination of deep purple lavender, soft sunrise light, and the fun energy between J and M made for a truly memorable and joyful shoot.
