A Romantic Proposal at Colline de Château, Nice

This session took place in mid-July, from 17:00 to 18:30. D wanted to propose to C, and we chose Colline de Château in Nice for the location. The timing worked best for their schedule, giving us plenty of daylight while avoiding the harshest shadows.

Proposal at the Viewpoint

We started at the viewpoint up the stairs that faces the Promenade des Anglais, the beach, and the sea. Late afternoon or evenings is ideal for this spot because earlier in the day, the lower sun leaves the area in shadow. The lighting at this time of the day highlighted the sparkling blue water and the quintessential bright, colourful pastels of the French Riviera. The proposal went beautifully. C was shocked and emotional, and D’s nervous excitement came through in every photo. After the proposal, we captured more photos at the same viewpoint before moving to the Old Town of Nice.

Exploring the Old Town

The second location we went to was the Old Town of Nice. C wore a stunning golden outfit that perfectly complemented the warm tones of the streets. We photographed them walking, dancing, and posing along the yellow and red streets, capturing the charm of the town and their joyful reactions.

Sunset Views and the Promenade

Next, we went to the eastern end of Promenade des Anglais. Here we captured the promenade and beach in the background, along with sparkling light blue water. Close-ups of the ring were taken at this spot.

Strolling to the Port

The final part of the shoot took us down Quai Rauba Capeu towards the port. The golden sunlight at this time made the street and water glow beautifully. We concluded the session with portraits of the couple against the port, perfectly capturing the romantic Riviera atmosphere.
