Jardin Exotique Surprise Engagement in Èze, French Riviera

Proposal Planning

P reached out to plan a meaningful proposal for his partner, A, and together we chose the garden in Èze as the setting. The garden requires a €200 photography fee in addition to general admission tickets, but it is truly worth it. Outside of the private hotels, it is the only public location in Èze where you can clearly see the sea, making it one of the most special and recommended proposal spots on the French Riviera.

Their proposal took place in early July during the late afternoon, from 15:30 to 17:00. At this time of day, the light is still bright yet beautifully soft, and the colours of the sea become vivid and unmistakably Riviera-like. For couples who want that classic coastal atmosphere, this timing creates a stunning visual backdrop. We chose the lower viewpoint within the garden so the ocean would open fully behind them as the proposal happened.

After the proposal, we explored different corners of the garden for portraits.

Champagne Celebration

Then we moved to a quiet terrace area overlooking the village, with views toward the church and surrounding landscape. There, A and P shared a small champagne celebration and had a few private minutes to take in the moment and reflect on their engagement.

Photos around Èze Village

We then continued photographing throughout the village of Èze, visiting favourite hidden spots as the late-afternoon light began to filter gently through the streets. Between 16:00 and 17:00, the sunlight reaches into the town in a particularly beautiful way, making this one of our favourite times to photograph in the area.

The session ended with soft, romantic images that captured not only the proposal itself, but the calm joy that followed—an unforgettable beginning to A and P’s next chapter together.
