Finding the Last Lavender Field of the Season¶
D reached out to plan a surprise proposal for A, and after discussing several ideas, they chose 14 July 2025. That summer was particularly difficult in the Valensole region due to intense heat waves, drought, and rising temperatures. By mid-July, most of the lavender fields had already been harvested.
After searching carefully, we found one remaining field that had not yet been cut. It was a new location for us and quickly became one of our favourites. The setting was peaceful, slightly off the beaten path, and absolutely beautiful at sunrise.
A Surprise Proposal at Golden Sunrise¶
We scheduled the session from 6:40 to 7:40 to capture the early morning light. The sunrise that day was stunning, with soft golden tones washing over the lavender.
A believed they were simply going for a morning drive, which makes the photographs even sweeter. In the first moments, she was still in casual clothes, thinking they were just exploring. When D proposed, the surprise was completely genuine. The quiet sunrise setting made the moment feel intimate and calm.
Changing into White Outfits and Exploring More Fields¶
After the proposal, they changed into outfits they had brought for the day. A wore a white dress that looked beautiful against the lavender. We continued the session across a different off-the-beaten-path field.

Finishing in the Heart of Valensole¶
To end the session, we drove ten minutes into the town of Valensole for a few final photographs. The charming streets added variety to the gallery and gave them a mix of countryside and village scenery.
Despite the challenges of the late season, everything came together perfectly. The last standing field, the golden sunrise, and a completely surprised proposal made it a truly special morning.
