Lavender Fields Emotional Sunset Proposal in Provence¶
Cover Story for the Perfect Surprise¶
J reached out to plan a proposal for V in Valensole. Since they had done several photo sessions together before, it was easy for him to suggest another shoot without raising suspicion. This approach works especially well for couples who are already comfortable in front of the camera, as it keeps the proposal feeling natural and unexpected.
They chose late June and booked a longer session from 19:45 to 21:15 so we could move between multiple locations before the proposal.
Starting the Photoshoot at the Dip Field¶
We began in what we call the “Dip Field”, a few minutes from Valensole. This field is known for its dramatic slope, which makes the lavender appear as though it stretches endlessly into the distance. We spent time there capturing relaxed portraits and candid moments, easing into the session and keeping everything casual.
The Proposal Moment¶
Afterwards, we moved to the “Sunset Field”. This location has a direct view of the setting sun and is especially beautiful in the final hour of the day. The change of field helped shift the mood and kept the session feeling dynamic, which also helped maintain the surprise.
With the sun lowering behind the lavender rows, J proposed. The timing was perfect. The light was warm and golden, and the sunset that evening was especially beautiful.
Golden Hour Portraits¶
After V said yes, we continued with couple portraits in the soft sunset light. We captured wide shots with the glowing horizon, and intimate moments as they celebrated together in the field.
Final Portraits at Lavandes Angelvin¶
We spent the last few minutes of our shoot finishing at Lavandes Angelvin. Even though the lavender was not fully grown yet there, it still looked stunning in photos. We also took some pictures with the sunflowers before the sun fully set.
