Marriage Proposal at Hôtel du Couvent, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Nice¶
M planned a special and intimate proposal for W at the beautiful Hôtel du Couvent a Luxury Collection hotel in Nice. The plan was carefully timed to fit their morning schedule, ensuring it felt natural and unhurried, with the shoot taking place from 11:45 to 12:45 on the 8th of July.
Hotel with a History¶
Hôtel du Couvent is a remarkable property with a rich history. Originally built in the 17th century as a convent, it has been meticulously restored and transformed into a luxury hotel that combines historical charm with modern comfort. The architecture retains much of its original character, including stone walls, arched windows, and peaceful courtyards, while the interior boasts elegant furnishings, refined details, and contemporary amenities. Set on a hillside overlooking Nice, the hotel features beautifully landscaped gardens, quiet terraces, and stunning views of the city and the Mediterranean beyond. Its blend of history, elegance, and scenery makes it a truly unique and unforgettable setting for a proposal or celebration.
Proposal Planning¶
For M and W's proposal, they chose a charming garden area located slightly up the hill within the hotel grounds. M had prepared two flower bouquets placed side by side, creating a natural frame for the moment. W thought they were simply going for a morning walk, but as they explored the garden, M proposed. W's surprise and joy were beautifully captured, and we positioned ourselves at the far end of the garden to remain discreet while still documenting the moment.
After the proposal, we took a brief photoshoot in the hotel, capturing a few intimate portraits outside.
We then continued around Nice, walking through the charming Old Town.
Afterwards our next stop was the Cours Saleya flower market. This vibrant area, full of colourful blooms and lively streets, provided casual and playful moments for the couple.
From there, we made our way down to the Promenade des Anglais, taking photos along the waterfront. The turquoise blue of the Mediterranean was spectacular, offering the perfect backdrop for the close-ups of the engagement rings and the joyful interaction between M and W.
The shoot concluded at Quai Rauba Capeu, one of the most scenic viewpoints in Nice, with panoramic views of the city and the coastline behind them. The combination of natural light, the colour of the water, and the couple’s happiness made it an absolutely perfect way to end the session. By 12:45, the morning had come to a close, leaving us with a beautiful collection of images that captured the intimacy, romance, and joy of the day.
