Morning Proposal at Colline du Château in Nice

Proposal Planning

This proposal took place on July 22 in Nice, during the height of the summer season. K wanted to plan a proposal in the morning and was specifically looking for a location that would feel private despite it being one of the busiest times of the year. After discussing options, we chose Colline du Château, also known as Castle Hill, focusing on the side of the park overlooking Port Lympia. This section of the park is known for its soft morning light and lower number of visitors early in the day.

The session was scheduled for 10:00. Although July is typically busy in Nice, the park was very quiet at that time. There were barely any people around, which made it an ideal setting for a proposal. The light was soft and even, and the temperature was comfortable before the stronger midday heat set in.

The Proposal

K proposed to M shortly after arriving at the viewpoint. The location offered clear views over the port and the surrounding area, and the calm atmosphere helped the moment feel relaxed and unhurried.

Once the proposal was complete, we continued with a photo session in different areas of Colline du Château and the waterfall at the top, which is one of the most recognisable features of the park.

From there, we made our way back down towards the promenade to capture wider views of the coastline. Around 10:45, the water below was especially clear and bright, creating a strong contrast with the surrounding greenery and the city.

We also took photos on the opposite side of the promenade, where the mountains form the background.

Nice Old Town

From there, we continued down into the Old Town. The final part of the session took place in the Cours Saleya area, known for its flower market, yellow-toned architecture, and narrow streets. This change of setting added variety to the overall gallery.

The shoot finished around 11:00. Everything went smoothly, and the timing worked well for a summer proposal in Nice. For couples looking for a scenic location with minimal crowds, especially during peak season, Colline du Château in the early morning remains a reliable choice.
