Sunset Family Photo Session in Nice, French Riviera¶
In early September, under the soft warmth of the late summer sun, I had the joy of photographing a beautiful family of four in the heart of Nice, France. The shoot took place during that magical time of year when the city begins to settle into the golden hues of early autumn, but still carries the ease and brightness of summer.
Place Masséna¶
We began our session in the iconic Place Masséna, where the bold checkerboard square and striking architecture provided a vibrant backdrop for our first set of photos. The family arrived in matching outfits—stylish, coordinated, and absolutely adorable. Their two daughters, around six and ten years old, brought so much energy and sweetness to the shoot. The genuine connection between them made every frame feel effortless and full of heart.
The next stop was Promenade des Anglais, but we stopped by a few cute streets on the way.
Golden Hour on the Promenade des Anglais¶
As we continued down the Promenade des Anglais, the sun began its slow descent over the Mediterranean.
This area of Nice is pure magic at golden hour. The sea turned a deep blue, kissed by warm amber tones from the fading sun, and the family's silhouettes popped beautifully against the changing sky.
But the true highlight of the shoot came at the very end.
With just under an hour from start to finish, we finished our shoot at Colline du Château, a hilltop park that offers sweeping views of the city and the coastline. It was a bit of a trek, but the views are absolutely worth it. Here's some of the views on the way up:
