Wedding Dress Photo Session around the Medieval Village of Èze¶
This photo session was captured on June 9th, in Èze, from 16:30 to 17:30. Although this is a busier time in Èze, the lighting during the late afternoon is actually one of our favourites. At this hour, the sun is high enough to illuminate all of the streets, creating a bright, vibrant backdrop for photography. Morning sessions are quieter, which is ideal for couples looking for privacy, but afternoon lighting has its own special qualities. The streets are fully lit, and the colours of the town are particularly vivid.
Wedding Dress Session¶
The couple, A and A, reached out because their wedding day had been rainy, and they had been unable to take sunny photos in their wedding attire. They were staying on the French Riviera for their honeymoon and wanted to recreate the wedding look with bright, clear weather.
We met at the bottom of Èze at 16:30 and began the walk up into the town. A looked stunning, with her hair perfectly styled and the dress catching the afternoon light beautifully. The combination of the streets, bright sunlight, and vibrant flowers made for a perfect setting.
We moved slowly up the hill, keeping in mind that Èze has many stairs, which is helpful to know for anyone planning a shoot there.
Flowers around Èze Village¶
So many of the streets are lined with bougainvillea, providing a colourful, romantic background.
We also photographed on our favourite yellow street, which is particularly striking in the afternoon light and adds warmth and energy to the images.
The session concluded near Château Eza.
The combination of Eze’s streets, vibrant flowers, and scenic views provided a variety of backdrops, all illuminated by the exceptional late afternoon light. The shoot successfully recreated the couple’s wedding-day look, producing bright, joyful images that reflected both the beauty of the town and the happiness of the couple.
