What's your style and approach?
Our approach lives somewhere between documentary and editorial, or "loose editorial". It sits between pure documentary/candid coverage and highly posed editorial work. Throughout shoots we are fully present, guiding you into beautiful light and giving you direction. We love lots of movement during a photo session. But we also love to focus on real, candid moments as they unfold naturally too, in between those posed shots.
Will our photos be in colour, black and white, or a mix?
Either all or the majority of your gallery will be in colour, because the South of France deserves to be seen in all its warmth and richness. Black and white is woven in selectively, for the moments where removing colour makes the emotion feel even stronger. Where a photograph works beautifully in black and white, we'll always include both versions. And if you have a personal preference either way, we're very happy to talk about it and shape your gallery around what feels right for you. If you're someone who loves (or doesn't love) black and white, just let us know— we're happy to tailor our editing process to your taste.
Do you retouch or edit the photos?
Yes! Every single image in your final gallery is edited in the style you see on our website. That includes colour correction, tone adjustments, cropping, straightening, sharpening, and black and white conversions. Beyond that, we take care of gentle retouching to soften any temporary distractions or anything that might draw the eye away from the moment itself. We want you to look and feel your absolute best, while still looking completely and recognisably like yourself. Nothing overdone, nothing artificial.
Do you shoot film as well as digital?
We shoot primarily on digital. If film is something close to your heart and you'd love to explore incorporating it, we'd be happy to have that conversation. Just mention it when you get in touch and we'll see what might be possible together. On film we use a Canon AE-1. I love the texture and nostalgia film brings to a gallery— it adds a bit of soul that's hard to replicate digitally.
