Perched 400 metres above the Mediterranean, Èze is the most requested location we photograph on the French Riviera — and for good reason. The medieval village's stone archways, the Jardin Exotique's cactus-lined terraces and the sea views from Château Eza and Chèvre d'Or make it a natural stage for a surprise proposal or a couple session at golden hour.

This beautiful proposal between S and C took place in late July from 16:20 to 17:20, set within the peaceful surroundings of Château Eza. C chose this location because he wanted an intimate and private moment, and the balcony at the hotel offers exactly that.

In late July, we had the pleasure of capturing a very special moment for C and P at the luxurious Hôtel Château de La Chèvre d’Or in Èze. P had proposed to C the night before in the privacy of their hotel suite, creating an intimate and personal experience.

This session took place in mid-July from 10:15 to 11:15. M wanted to propose to S in a private, intimate spot, so he chose the Château Eza's private balcony for its breathtaking views and quiet atmosphere. S was completely surprised, and the emotions were so genuine and heartfelt.

This proposal between A and D took place in mid-July from 17:20 to 18:20 inside the beautiful Jardin Exotique d’Èze. D chose this location for its breathtaking panoramic views over the sea, one of the only places in the village where the water is visible without booking a private hotel venue..

Jardin Exotique Surprise Engagement in Èze, French Riviera

P reached out to plan a meaningful proposal for his partner, A, and together we chose the garden in Èze as the setting. The garden requires a €200 photography fee in addition to general admission tickets, but it is truly worth it. Outside of the private hotels, it is the only public location in Èze where you can clearly see the sea, making it one of the most special and recommended proposal spots on the French Riviera.

From Misty Èze to a Coastal Beach Proposal in Èze-sur-Mer, South of France

J had originally planned to propose to B in the village of Èze. However, when we arrived that day, the weather had other plans. The day turned out to be extremely cloudy and misty, because of this, we made a last minute decision to adjust the schedule and move the proposal to Èze-sur-Mer.

This photo session was captured in early June, in Èze. Although this is a busier time in Èze, the lighting during the late afternoon is actually one of our favourites. At this hour, the sun is high enough to illuminate all of the streets, creating a bright, vibrant backdrop for photography.

This unforgettable proposal between A and K was one of the most elaborate and carefully planned moments we have ever had the honour of capturing. K had been organising every detail for months, A originally believed she was travelling to Nice for a simple weekend with her cousin in early June, but the cousin was never meant to come. When the cousin suddenly had to cancel because of 'work', K stepped in to join the trip, exactly as he had planned all along.

A Secret Proposal in Jardin Exotique of Èze

On this special day, T planned a heartfelt proposal to M at the Jardin Exotique in Èze. Because they were travelling with a friend, T had to coordinate a timing that kept the moment a complete surprise. He incorporated a personal touch by having M’s favourite artists appear in a video message, which she saw just before the proposal.

In mid-September, we met K and C for a two-hour evening session from 18:00 to 20:00. With sunset arriving a little earlier in September, the timing was carefully chosen to capture the warm glow of golden hour as it settled over the village.

Surprise Sunset Proposal Photography in Jardin Exotique of Èze

In mid-September, B reached out to plan a surprise proposal for S in Èze. They chose a short 30-minute session from 18:30 to 19:00 to capture the soft evening light. At that time of year, the light in the early evening is beautifully gentle and flattering, even before the sun fully sets.

In late July, from 19:40 to 20:40, B proposed to S at Château Eza. Perched high above the Mediterranean, Château Eza is a historic boutique hotel built into the ancient stone walls of the village. With panoramic sea views and elegant terraces, it is one of the most sought after proposal locations on the Riviera. The setting feels intimate and dramatic at the same time, which makes it ideal for moments like this.

Private Morning Engagement Session in Jardin Exotique, Èze

B wanted an intimate, completely private proposal, so he arranged to privatise the entire Jardin Exotique d’Eze. We arrived early to set up and prepare for the shoot, ensuring everything was perfect before T and B arrived. Experiencing the garden entirely to ourselves before it opened was a rare and magical moment.

R wanted to propose to K in a quiet spot, so we chose Jardin Exotique in Èze in the morning. The shoot took place in mid-June, early in the morning when the garden is calm and peaceful. This timing is ideal because later in the day the garden becomes crowded and the sunlight can be harsh.
